A while ago a friend cleaned out her craft closet and gave me lots of cool stuff to play with. One of the things she gave me was a bag of angel wings she’d removed from some old ornaments. It took awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with them but I got the crazy idea to mount a small canvas on the front and I came up with…The Queen of Flight. There’s layers of vintage paper, felt, rhinestones, book text, a vintage button and a charm dangling from the bottom too. I think she’s ready to take flight!

I think Spring is finally on it’s way, I saw my first chipmunk of the year and the first dandilion has popped up in the yard!
To help celebrate this wonderful time of year I’ve made several soldered glass pendant with animals that make me think Spring.
The first three (bunny, duckling and lamb) are vintage illustrations from a Tasha Tudor book. I love her work!

This Robin pendant has a nest on the back and comes from a vintage children’s ABC book.

All (except the lamb, which sold) are in my Etsy shop right now.

Been working on some new collages on vintage BINGO cards. Here’s the first, it’s got a pretty bird and German scrap paper nest, vintage silver button, lace flower and layers of felt and music paper with white washed scrabble tiles. It hangs from pink grommets and wire.

Here’s a couple of Steampunk themed collages I made recently. They both use a cool steampunk girl stamp from Sweet Pea stamps. The larger collage is on a vintage Bingo card with metal gears and cogs, move-able clock hands, it’s hanging from wire on metal grommets with a key charm.

The Art Card is on a reproduction small Bingo card that says Woman’s Auxiliary Air Force, it also has a metal gear.

They are both currently avilabe in my Etsy Shop.

Been playing around with more new Halloween stamps from Inkadinkado.

I’m in love with the Voodoo Doll stamps, a cute witch and funky cat. I thought they’d make perfect shrink plastic charms so I stamped them on white shrink plastic using Staz-On ink, colored them with colored pencils, punched a hole for the jump rings and strung them on a chain. I also added a small domino with the word “Voodoo”.

This Death Head Moth stamp is spooky but also seemed a little vintage to me, like an insect specimen so I made a collage with a vintage feel with it. It’s on layers of pattern paper embellished with vintage lace, a vintage button and a chipboard label with brads.

This X-Ray of a Trick or Treat bag is just so evil! Along with the candy there is a razor blade in the apple, brass knuckles and a big knife. Probably not a stamp for everyone but I like twisted things so I think it’s really cool
I added some poison labels cut from some pattern paper and added the color tinting with small sponges and ink.

For this collage I used the raven and skull stamp from Inkadinkado on vintage book paper, it’s embellished with a binder clip and ink pen nib that’s dripping ink. The bottom border is black mesh ribbon, crepe paper and an embossed metal plate that says “nevermore”. I tied some hemp string with a hand and heart charm around the plate. I almost didn’t want to sell it I love it so much but I’ve listed it in my Etsy shop

This week over on Craft Gossip I did a review of Pentel art supplies.I really liked everything I tried especially the tube watercolors and the Hybrid technica pen. I used them to make a primitive witch collage for Halloween. I drew her in pencil on watercolor paper, used a Pentel water brush and watercolors to color her in then went over my pencil lines with the Hybrid pen, her hair was done with their Pocket Brush pen. I cut her dress, mask and hat from pattern paper.

I also used some of their gel pens and markers for a couple of cards.
This card uses stamps from Lawn Fawn colored with markers.

These stamps are from Inkadinkado and colored with gel pens.

Here’s a link to my complete review over on Craft Gossip if you’d like to check it out.
