Chipboard Pins

I just did a review for Craft Gossip for Silhouette’s new chipboard. This thin chipboard cuts easily with the Silhouette die cut machine and I’m thinking of so many things I can make with it like banners, shrine boxes, little houses….

I’ve seen a lot of pretty jewelry pieces lately made with layered die cut wood and thought I could do the same using the chipboard. So I cut out my shapes along with pattern papers in the same shapes and sizes and layered them, using a glue stick to adhere them together. I used two layers of the chipboard for the bases just so they were nice and sturdy. I added a little ink to the edges for even more dimension and then glued on pin backs. I think these turned out really fun.

Captured in 3D!

I found these cool little metal bird cages at the craft store and thought they were fun. I turned this one into a captured fairy cage. I used a photocopy of a cute vintage girl and adhered her to chipboard and cut her out, then added some chipboard wings behind her and a rhinestone. I put faux grass in the bottom of the cage and set her inside. Pretty simple but pretty cute too 🙂
