Liquid Masking Fluid Technique

I used an adorable witch stamp from Daisy Church and some liquid masking fluid to create a fun Halloween card. This technique is perfect to use with digital stamps to add a background to a one layer card.

Honey Bear Card

Honey Bear Card

I’m back with another card using the new Harmony Opaque Pigment Ink Pads from Spectrum Noir. I created this cute bear card using the inks. I used a blending brush with Lemon Tonic and Honey Pot inks on a stencil from Stencil Revolution to create the honeycomb background. I heat embossed my sentiments and images from a W Plus 9 stamp set with Honey Pot and Jet Black Inks with clear powder.

BRRRRRR!

Monday, November 25th, 2013

Winter is finally here, it was 17 degrees yesterday when I woke up, brrrr!

Yeti Holiday Card

To get in the mood for this frigid weather I made this adorable, abominable snowman card using stamps from Lawn Fawn.

Here’s how…..

Supplies- Light blue, pale blue, tan and white cardstocks; Lawn Fawn” Yeti” and “Critters in the Snow” (snowflakes) stamp sets; blue and black inks, jute string, alcohol markers, foam tape

– First cut a piece of light blue cardstock in half and fold for the card base

-Next cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and cut a pale blue piece to 5″ long and using your scissors cut a wave shape across the top

– Next trim a tan piece of cardstock to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and randomly stamp snowflakes with blue ink. Tip: Place several clear snowflake stamps onto the same block to make stamping quicker. Next stamp the words in black.

yeti4

– Adhere the tan piece of cardstock on top of the white then adhere the blue wave piece, wrap a 24″ piece of hemp string around the bottom, tie in a knot and fray the edges. Adhere this to the cardstock base.

– On white cardstock using black ink stamp the yeti and color with alcohol markers and cut out. Mount him to your card using foam tape.

Have a Narwhal of a Time

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

The challenge this week over on the Lawnscaping Challenge blog is to use text.

Narwhal Card

I use two Lawn Fawn stamp sets, Critters in the Sea and Critters Ever After. I wanted to turn my cute whale into an even cuter Narwhal (If you don’t know these are whales that have one large spiral horn on the top of their head, I love them) so I added the horn from the unicorn stamp to turn him into one.

narwhal steps

I started by curving the text stamp into a wave shape, I love the flexibility of clear stamps! Then I stamped it repeatedly onto vellum paper and cut it out with a wave shape at the top.

narwhal steps

I then stamped my whale into polka dot pattern paper (My Mind’s Eye) cut it out and inked the edges using a sponge dauber.

narwhal steps

I stamped just the top of the unicorn onto scrap brown paper twice and cut out the horns, layering them to make one longer horn. And glued it to the whale’s head.

I adhered my vellum paper onto striped pattern paper (also My Mind’s Eye) and blue cardstock, putting the adhesive on the vellum where the ribbon would go so it wouldn’t show. Then wrapped the ribbon around adding a knot and button. I adhered those layers to my brown cardstock base.

Lastly I stamped stars and colored them with a glitter gel pen and tucked the Narwhal a little under the vellum. I think he turned out so cute!

I’m Gearing Up!

With the new Inkadinkado Stamping Gear tool. I recently did a review at Craft Gossip for this cool new stamping tool, click here to check it out.

Here’s a few of the projects I made with it:

Flower Thank You Card

Graduation Card

Ooky Spooky

Monday, September 10th, 2012

Been playing around with more new Halloween stamps from Inkadinkado.

Voodoo Charms Necklace

I’m in love with the Voodoo Doll stamps, a cute witch and funky cat. I thought they’d make perfect shrink plastic charms so I stamped them on white shrink plastic using Staz-On ink, colored them with colored pencils, punched a hole for the jump rings and strung them on a chain. I also added a small domino with the word “Voodoo”.

Death Head Moth Collage

This Death Head Moth stamp is spooky but also seemed a little vintage to me, like an insect specimen so I made a collage with a vintage feel with it. It’s on layers of pattern paper embellished with vintage lace, a vintage button and a chipboard label with brads.

Sinister Trick or Treat Bag Card

This X-Ray of a Trick or Treat bag is just so evil! Along with the candy there is a razor blade in the apple, brass knuckles and a big knife. Probably not a stamp for everyone but I like twisted things so I think it’s really cool 🙂 I added some poison labels cut from some pattern paper and added the color tinting with small sponges and ink.

Spending Time with Company

K and Company that is 🙂 I recently got an amazing box full of goodies from K and Co. to review at Craft Gossip from their brand new “Beyond Postmarks” line. It’s got a bunch of cool cards and embellishments that move, pull out, pop up, etc. really cool.

Here are the cards I made, quick and easy but so fun.

Roses Cards

Cheers Cards

Pop Up Cards

Fold Out and Spin Cards

I think the rabbit pulled out of the hat is my fave 🙂

Puff the Magic Dragon

This big guy better be careful or he’s going to set his pinwheel on fire!

Dragon Blowing Pinwheel Card

This weeks Lawnscaping Challenge is to use dimension. I just got the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After set and I ADORE it! I decide to give my card a lot of dimension by making a 3-D pinwheel and adding thick foam dots behind my dragon. All stamps are from Lawn Fawn and the pattern paper is from Cosmo Cricket.

Just Some Cards

Monday, May 21st, 2012

Just wanted to share a couple of cards I made recently.

This one uses a stamp from the Character Construction’s Bird and Bee Paperie line. I adore how the bunny’s tale is poking out in the back! The paper I used is My Mind’s Eye.

Bunny in Apron Card

The next card uses stamps from Stampin’ Up’s set Just Buzzin’ By. I used a glitter pen on the bee’s wings and liquid dimensional adhesive (aka, liquid glass, crystal lacquer, etc) on the honey to give it some shine. I used Echo Park paper on this one.

Both cards were colored with Prisma Color Pencils and odorless mineral spirits (aka Gamsol)
