Charmed

Monday, October 1st, 2012

I recently made several domino charms and charm necklaces for Fall and Halloween. Each domino is colored with ink and stamped with an image and then soldered around the edges.

This first one is all about one of my favorite poets Edgar Allan Poe, the round charm is a vintage wooden game piece and there is also a metal ink pen nib.

I love this cool owl image, I added another game piece with the word “who”

This one is a play on the term “skeleton key”, dancing skeletons on the domino, a metal key and skull bead

Have a Magical Day!

I adore the Pure Innocence stamp line from My Favorite Things, it’s one of my faves, I’d love to own them all :)

Here’s a card I made for the MFT weekly sketch challenge. I took the little girl holding the pumpkin and drew a jack o’ lantern face on the pumpkin and added a witches hat to her to take it from being a more fall image to Halloween. The sentiment stamp is from the Pure Innocence Fairy stamp set. The papers are from Cosmo Cricket.

Getting a Jump on Halloween

Friday, August 28th, 2009

My favorite holiday is Halloween, so much so my hubby and I got married the evening before. I can’t believe that was almost 5 years ago now :)  I really think I could make Halloween art all year round so I love to get a early start on items for my Etsy shop.

Here’s more of the soldered pendants I’ve been working on:

A couple more dictionary illustration, this time a black bird. On the back I added sheet music and the words “blackbird singing” for a Beatles inspiration

The rest are vintage illustrations from a children’s story book.
