Friday, June 15th, 2012Here’s a charm bracelet inspired by one of my all time favorite authors, Jane Austen. I stamped and shrunk a silhouette of a woman from shrink plastic, soldered two scrabble tiles and added dictionary words to each, along with a hand holding a heart charm and a ink pen nib. I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012In many of the vintage books I find there is usually a sweet picture on the title page of a child or animal reading a book, these make some of my favorite pendants! I love to read and despite the fact that I cut up books for my art I do dearly love books. I always try to find books that are falling apart, unwanted and unloved so I can give them a new life.
Here’s a few new “reading” pendants, both are currently available in my Etsy shop. And be on the look out for lots more new pendants in the coming weeks, I’ve gotten several great books recently with some wonderful illustrations.

Thursday, May 10th, 2012I wanted to share another mixed media charm necklace. It is on a ball chain and has a soldered stamped domino and a soldered round wooden game piece that I added vintage text too as well as a silver charm. I love how these clink around and move as you wear them!

Let Them Eat Cake
Sunday, May 6th, 2012I found a lovely princess image in one of my vintage children’s books recently and thought she looked like Marie Antoinette so I made a mixed media charm necklace with it around that theme. I soldered the illustration in glass and added two other soldered game pieces, a domino I colored blue and stamped a crown on and a round wooden game piece that I added vintage “eat cake” text too, there is also a silver charm of a hand holding a heart.

SPRING CLEANING
Monday, April 9th, 2012Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, I had surgery a few weeks ago and have been recovering.
It’s time for a little spring cleaning in my Etsy shop so I’ve marked down a bunch of soldered pendants to only $7! (regularly they were $12 and $16).

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012I’ve been seeing lots of cool ideas popping up everywhere using chalkboard paint and I thought “I’d like to make something with that stuff”. So the idea popped into my head to add it to something I already make, soldered jewelry. So today I made a chalkboard necklace, it turned out just like I had envisioned, don’t you love when that happens?
Draw or write something new every day, aren’t they fun?

Who are you calling a Witch?!
Wednesday, October 5th, 2011I’ve been very busy making lots of collage art soldered pendants for Halloween. I’ve done lots of witches, women and little girls, a bat fairy and some little wizards too. I think some of these would be great for Harry Potter fans also 🙂 Each hand cut collage is mounted on vintage Italian book paper and sandwiched between glass and soldered around the edges. I added black patina to the solder. These pendants are currently available here in my Etsy shop.
I adore the little grumpy witch asking “who are you calling a witch?”, I almost kept her for myself 🙂
I’m really happy with the bat fairy, I think she’s so cool.
